Raising The Standard Through Love, Confirmation, DNA, & Healthy Breeding Practices
Dog Health & Nutrition
A dog typically reaches full physical maturity between 12 and 24 months of age, depending on their breed and size. Smaller dog breeds tend to mature faster and may reach their full size and physical development by around 12 to 18 months, while larger breeds may continue to grow and develop until 18 to 24 months or even longer. When it comes to assessing genetic health issues most issues will become apparent within the first two years of your dog’s life. Our two-year genetic health guarantee is designed to cover this period but for those that want to go above and beyond for their puppy we also have available a five-year coverage for hips and elbow joints.
2 Year Health Guarantee
*With Up To 5 Year Hip & Elbow Coverage Available
Supplements
We highly recommend NuVet Plus supplements for your puppies. They help the immune system of a puppy or adult dog stay at its peak performance.
MDC Diamond Rating
The Purple Diamond Rating is designed to assist the clients we work with to receive the absolute best puppy to meet their needs. We also want to be a leader and advocate for healthy breeding practices which starts by choosing the healthiest and most qualified adults.
American Kennel Club
Our adult dogs are registered, and the puppies will be eligible to be registered with the AKC.
Founded in 1884, the AKC is the recognized and trusted expert in breed, health and training information for dogs. AKC actively advocates for responsible dog ownership and is dedicated to advancing dog sports.
Orthopedic Foundation for Animals
Right after two years old, we endeavor to have our adult females and males OFA health tested to assure our customers that they are adopting the healthiest pups from any breeder. Hips, elbows, and heart are some of the areas examined.
Genetic Testing
We also test our dogs for degenerative myelopathy (SOD1A, SOD1B) and von Willebrand disease I (VWD).
Dog Foods
Each of our family breeders feeds high-quality dog foods and will recommend their preferred brands.
Please, do not overfeed your dog! Instead, follow manufacture directions for your dog’s age and weight. Overfeeding dogs is the greatest cause of cancer and joint problems in dogs. Keep them physically fit with top-quality food in the correct quantity and plenty of exercise. Other than an occasional treat of scrambled eggs or some cheeses including cottage cheese, we highly discourage human food given to dogs. Feeding dog food containing corn, soy, or wheat products is also not recommended. Cooked beef bones from your local butcher can provide a healthful treat. Do not offer chicken or turkey bones.
